• Engineer details: Gas Safe registration number, business name, qualifications, service areas, callout rates
• Customer details: property address, boiler information, job history
• Payment data: processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers
• Usage data: how you interact with the platform, device info, IP address
• Communications: messages between customers and engineers, support queries

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data for the following purposes:

• Providing and managing the HomeLinq platform and services
• Matching customers with Gas Safe registered engineers
• Processing payments via Stripe Connect
• Sending service-related emails (invoices, booking confirmations, reminders)
• Verifying engineer Gas Safe registration status
• Improving our platform and user experience
• Complying with legal obligations (tax records, gas safety regulations)

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data under the following legal bases:

• Contract: to provide our services when you create an account or book an engineer
• Legitimate interests: to improve our platform, prevent fraud, and ensure safety

• Stripe: for payment processing (subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy)
• Supabase: cloud database hosting (data stored in EU/UK data centres)
• Resend: for transactional email delivery
• Engineers/Customers: contact details shared only when a booking is confirmed

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion:

• Personal data is deleted within 30 days
• Financial records are retained for 7 years (HMRC requirement)
• Gas safety certificates are retained for 2 years (Gas Safety Regulations 1998)

• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
